Hi! I’m Mary-Lou and welcome to my corner of green living ideas and knowledge. I am trying to share some eco-friendly life tips and solutions to make sustainable living easier and more achievable. Lets break down all the jargon and cut to the chase . We all want to minimise our environmental impact, but how do we do that in our busy hectic lives?!
So, here I want to give you some really easy to implement ideas on how to live your life with joy, while minimizing your effect on the planet. Plastic is a big bug bear of mine. So ways to reduce or eliminate that will feature heavily!
I’m a mum of two young boys (so time saving efforts are a must!) and together with them and my husband we live in Northern Ireland. But I’ve lived all over the world. I now try to implement practices from every country I have lived in!
For many years I lived and breathed retail analytics and sales. Both advising retailers on how to make more profits from their products, and negotiating deals between businesses to make the most of their bottom line. I have seen first hand how large retailers squeeze the ‘little guy’ on every last ounce of profit. Any chance to implement sustainable or eco friendly production methods was near impossible and unprofitable.
There has to be another way. As consumers we have to stand up and say this is no longer acceptable – we have to vote with our wallets!
But that isn’t always easy or affordable. So hopefully I can show you some new ways to easily implement green living ideas and feel good about the decisions you make.
This blog was born from a business called LOOLYN. An e-commerce marketplace for plastic free products sold by sustainable and ethical makers from across the UK. LOOLYN was founded by myself and my good friend Lynsey, because we struggled to easily find and compare plastic free items while going about our busy lives. For a year we created and ran LOOLYN. But ultimately we decided that we needed to be realistic about how much our e-commerce marketplace could change the world. Our LOOLYN blogs were a great success and so once the marketplace finished I decided to keep the blog and tips going. I hope you find something useful!
